I have setup my mail system using fetchmail, postfix, procmail and
courier imap, soon I am going to add spamassassin. Everything is going
really well and doing everything exactly as I want it to.
Now I want to add shared folders. I read the Courier-IMAP web site
documentation on sharing folders but it left me as confused as anyone
can get without passing out.
I created a user called test and the maildir for that user using
'maildirmake -S Maildir'. That creates the maildir so that you can
share it.
I then created a folder that could be shared using
'maildirmake -s write -f pm Maildir'. That creates a folder in the
maildir called 'pm' that can be shared and has full access for
everyone.
I then went to my normal user and created a symbolic link to the
shared folder '.pm' in the maildir. I use procmail to sort the mail,
based on the subject, to the shared folder called 'pm'.
My problem is that when mail is created in that folder it has
permissions of -rw-------
How can I make it so that files that are created in that directory are
created with permissions of -rw-rw----?
Has anyone setup Courier IMAP and been able to understand what the
instructions are about and shared folders successfully?
I read the instructions at
http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/README.sharedfolders.html and could
follow them until the section 'Accessing shared folders'. It isn't
clear where you are supposed to create these files and directories. Is
it supposed to be on the test user or the normal user or both? What is
supposed to be created where? I created all of them everywhere and
still can't get the mail client to see and subscribe to the shared
folder.
