| Because version 3 has not been packaged and QA'd for release by Red Hat?
Er, I didn't suggest getting it from Red Hat. And I certainly
would not consider it of any consequence whether or not Red Hat
had played with something that I was installing as a third-party
application on an old OS version.
In fact, I would not even be interested to know what Red Hat
thought about it. In the previous sentence, substitute FreeBSD
or any other OS vendor to taste.
