No, don't do it. Even using a 2.4 kernel with rh7.0 is very
problematic. 6.x is tuned to using 2.2.x kernels (eg, utilities
like mount, nfs, and so on won't properly support 2.4.x).
On the other hand, an updated redhat 6.2 box (2.2.19 kernel) is a
very stable system.
If you need/want a 2.4.x kernel, go the whole way and use it with
redhat 7.2 (with all its updates).
