After downloading the tar file and re-installing rpm-4.0 (I got it wrong
in the first message and it was only 12.5 Meg). After doing what Rob K
suggested and then running up2date again all of the packages that were
complaining before were also updated and the system is now fully up to
date with no dependency problems at all. Thanks to all those that
offered suggestions.
Also thanks to those that offered suggestions regarding the xinerama
problem. It is now working a treat and the extra real estate is great.
If gdm factors in some edge resistance in the next release my desktop
world would be complete. Almost tempted to use the last spare slot for
another video card and setup another monitor. :-)
Still working on the dial-up server problem though ... lack of time and
a test partner has slowed this project down a bit. Will get there when
time allows. Thanks again for all your help.
Cheers,
Scott
