I've had trouble for ages with divx, and not finding that decore.h.

Now I'm using Mplayer (mplayerhq.hu), with a pack of win32 codecs
extracted to /usr/lib/win32, and it plays divx beautifully.

Maybe try getting the codecs into that directory? Xmps might pick it up.

Peter.

has anyone successfully got xmps compiled and playing divx files? We
can't
seem to get the divx plugin to compile. this is the error we get is:

In file included from opendivx_codec.c:28:
opendivx_codec.h:41: divx/decore.h: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [opendivx_codec.lo] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/ix/xmps-opendivx-plugin-0.0.2/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ix/xmps-opendivx-plugin-0.0.2'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

It'd be really nice not to have to boot that other OS to watch movie
files.

On another note, the sound card seems to have stopped working. The
module
is set to load on startup (I did that) because the user was doing a
manual
modprobe just before he went into X. Well it appears the modprobe on
startup for some reason isn't working like a modprobe just before startx

does.... I'm stumped. kernel is 2.4.14 and soundcard uses module cmpci.

Sandra.
