by 'locks' do you mean you can't open the drive to put in another disk?
You'll have to unmount the drive before you can eject the disk that's in there.

If you right click on the drive on the desktop [i assume you're in kde or 
gnome] you should get an option to unmount. otherwise, i think there's 
something in the menus to bring up a list of mounted drives and unmount 
them. It's been a while since I used Mandrake regularly so I'm a little rusty.
