Hi,
As a relative newcomer, I am hoping that somebody may be able to either help
me, or point me in the right direction to find an answer!

I have an e-smith (v 5.1.2) box set up as a mail server.
Until last night, the mail worked perfectly.

Then, I fiddled! (I was trying to see if I could turn squid off.)

This morning, I find that I can't send any e-mail, although I seem to be
able to receive it.
This may just be coincidence, but I'm cynical and doubt it.

I get the following error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Account name', Server:
'mail.xyz.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

When I try and telnet it doesn't work:
"telnet machinename 25" produces: ...Could not open a connection to host on
port 25 : Connect failed

On the E-smith box, a "ps aux | grep qmail" seems to indicate that qmail is
actually running.
(I only knew how to do this because I read it in a book!)

Thanking you in advance ...

Alan.
