Well for preference, I like Blackbox (blackboxwm.sf.net). It has no extra
weight, and so loads and runs very quickly. If you want icons, I also run
ROX-Filer (rox.sf.net). Once you get the basics, they are both *very* easy
to play with.

Also with Blackbox, you might want bbpager, bbkeys, and bbconf. I'm sure
you can figure out what each of these do...
