Should be OK. From what I can tell, the OpenGL API is part of libc6, which 
is distributed with Potato (at least it is on my system).

Looking at the site, I would suggest he build the software from source. 
The nice thing about Debian is that if you are missing any tools, it's 
just a matter of apt-get <insert-name-here>. Any dependencies will be 
automatically resolved, packages downloaded and installed. Debian package 
management leaves the rest way behind.
