I found a few advertised at seek.com.au.  Once you get in touch with the
recruiters they'll then tell you what else they have that they didn't
advertise.

Aim yourself at a particular corner of the market.  I have a lot of
experience with databases, Windows <shudder/>, XML and Java, but I didn't
want jobs in any of those fields, so I emphasised my other skills in
assembler/C/C++, linux, hardware and embedded systems.  Seemed to work for
me.

You might not necessarily find embedded Linux work, but if you're as good
as you say then you should find Linux work or embedded work.  (Personally,
I don't mind non-Linux systems when it comes to embedded systems... just
so long as it isn't wince)
