I do not agree with this. Setting the reply-to to the list keeps the
discussion on the list in public view (unless someone decides they need
to contact another person in private), this involves everyone in the
discussion and fosters the sense of community that this group has
developed over many years. Taking the reply-to setting away would reduce
traffic to the list and reduce discussion (ie. lost of questions asked
with no answer visible to others who might be interested), it also has
the effect of doubleing the amount of email participants in discussions
get (people are lazy and just "reply to all" meaning the poster gets 2
copies - one from the list one from the replier). I am on other lists
that have this policy and I find it damned annoying.
