I must've wandered off and lost the conversation somewhere, because i have
no idea what you mean by 'show' ???
Pico is on the redhat install disks. I assume you can get an rpm of nano,
but i tend to just use pico because it's in the default installation (iirc,
haven't used dedrat since 6.2... not seriously anyway). nano is for debian
et al users who like pico (sacrilege i hear you cry!) and want something
that is licensed under GPL (hooray!)
If you don't want to learn vi, i say don't learn it. I use it once in a
blue moon to edit my apt sources by hand so that I can get nano. I am not
one of those people who feels it is necessary to torture myself learning
obscure commands for an editor that I won't use more than once every few
months. (Yes I'm lazy... once the machine is set up, the config files don't
get touched very often unless something dire happens)
In any case, I've lost my train of thought (choochoo there it goes!) and so
I'll stop wasting everyone's time. (My brain's been soggy since lunch...
working on a helpdesk is murder when something goes wrong)
Sandra.
