We have adsl (Telstra) up here in lovely Caboolture, and it's stable as
anything,

I'm running it via a small gateway using Roaring Penguin, and it's stable
enough that I might find my connection dropped every 4 days or so, which
isn't too bad, it just comes back up again.

Only thing with Telstra was, I had to rearrange my network to have this
machine (my personal box which has both 98 and debian onboard) connected to
the net for the install, the installer wouldn't do it on anything else.
