[ Worthwhile understanding: http://www.humbug.org.au/netiquette.html ]

We've just started the *NIX part of the TAFE course that I am doing and
am discovering all sorts of discrepencies.

The AIX (which is what we telnet into) sort command uses each text
column as fields to sort by while the GNU sort (2.0e) seperates columns
by 'non- to whitespace transition'. I've looked thorugh man sort and
info sort and had a quick look on the web and couldn't find anyway to
emulate AIX behaviour in GNU sort. Anyone have any ideas?
