I have done it with linux before, I don't have the scripts handy but if
you use minicom to do one connection you will get the correct prompts to
use  'name:', 'word:' and I can't remember the third one :)
When in doubt go to the raw connection.

To the best of my knowledge they don't use chap, I set it up with a
plain old chatscript like I used for UQ. but I'd check by using a
terminal program first as they changed some of the setup 6 months ago.
