I think (since it's easier to speculate than check :) that the
trademark ended up with SCO, who were bought by Caldera, and so
Linux now owns Unix.
But at any rate, the question (not particularly to Andrae) is: do you
want to argue about the bad old days, or do you want to run a good
conference next year?
Rusty <rusty at linuxcare.com.au> organized the first CALU, and Martin
Nightingale <mnightingale at valinux.com> used to run shows for a living.
Both helped advise the l.c.a. people, and might be able to help HUMBUG
decide if it's interested in doing the next one.
Winter in Brisbane would work well for southerners, but a fair
fraction of the attendees travelled from the northern hemisphere. I'm
not sure how they'd feel about going to Brisbane winter from northern
summer. Probably neutral, and I guess it's a good time to see
Queensland.
