muffy# /sbin/lilo -r /newdrivemountpoint

usually works. Assuming of course you have a correctly written lilo.conf

Or you could always check out GRUB, Your Superior Boot Loader(tm).

Features of GRUB:
o Supports network booting, without a network bootable NIC
	o Understands file systems
		o FAT/FAT32
		o ReiserFS
		o Ext2/3
		o UFS
		o AFS
o a few others via modular support
	o Serial console support
o With a write protected MBR, you can _always_ boot
	o Multiboot compatible
o Ability to boot non multiboot OSes via chainloading or image loading
	o Modular design
o Config file can be edited from your favourite OS, no need to rerun
it after changing the config file or other files.
o Nice simple menu interface for those less experienced with computers
o Has full command line interface with tab completion
o Supports automatic decompression of compressed boot files
o Any device that can be access via a BIOS, can be accessed via GRUB
o Can remap device addresses (i.e. make hda hdb, and vice versa)
	o It's GNU software
