The story:
Time commitments mean that I've got to find my replacement for some
part time work - I can't do this during office hours anymore. The
client found someone that disassembled the secondary server and lost
the hard drive, so this is the place to look for competant people.

The work:
In Brisbane CBD at a small business.
Maintaining a debian box with apache (with company web page, about 5
hits at once maximum), bind, exim (mail server), samba shared drives &
printer. Adding in MySQL to the debian box. Occasional NT4 admin
tasks on about 6 boxes. Occasional hardware upgrades. Keeping an
NT3.51 server going which runs a single daemon that the linux box
cannot run. Fixing problems over the phone or by ssh when odd things
happen. Installing miscellaneous pieces of quality hardware that are
somewhat old acquired from auctions. Possibly shifting the backup
system from zip drive to cd-rw if I don't get around to it this
weekend.

I used to average a day a fortnight on these tasks.

The pay:
Not good overall, but the hours are short. Pay will be negotiated
with the client.

The person:
A postgrad student or someone else that is flexable with time - ie.
able to put in an entire weekday occasionally. Experience with NT4 as
more than an ordinary user would be useful, extensive experience with
linux or *nix of another kind is essential, as with assembling
hardware (ie. you've rebuild your box enough times to be able to make
a few low end boxes out of the old leftover parts).
There is not a lot of work involved, so there is not a lot of money
involved.

Regards,

PS: Any flames about NT4 should go to /dev/null. No-one has to point
out any of the problems with this six year old piece of software to
me, but the database software the client uses works happily on it, and
they are moving towards MySQL and StarOffice.
