IMO 30 people is far too many. We had significantly fewer than this when
we did our first head count at the AGM this year (we started with around
20 something) and it was only with effort and delay that we got quorum.

I truly do not understand why concerns about 'stacking' translate into a
need for a large quorum. First and foremost, if you are concerned about
this then attend the AGM in person or appoint a trusted person proxy in
your absence. Second, the three month rule protexts us from opportunistic
'takeovers'. Third, I have never been presented with verifiable evidence
of this problem outside of politcal parties. Fourth, as an unincorporated
association members could take the evil 'stacked' executive to court if
this was truly a problem (read: disolving HUMBUG, etc). Fifth, what motive
would potential stackers have anyway?

Speaking for myself (not the exec) I support Willie's proposal.

Raymond
