Hmm...  Nothing happened with me, but I noticed the story in the Weekly
News.  Of course, I don't run inetd.  Is there an easy way to remove
inetd and the rpc packages?  I can force it, but that doesn't seem
right, and it's a kludge.  Seems to make no sense having packages
installed that never get used.

As long as you know what you're doing, it isn't too bad. =]
