[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and ]
[ Unix-related topics. Please observe the list's charter. ]
[ Worthwhile understanding: http://www.humbug.org.au/netiquette.html ]
Hi all,
My workplace has a number of machines: dual booting RH/W2K workstations,
HP-UX workstation, fileserver/gateway/router/security hazard (RH), and a
dual processor testing/central grunt server (RH/W2K). All my RH machines
are 6.2
We need some sort of centralised administration of users and groups and so
forth so things like NFS work well. Now the only way I know to do this is
withNIS (or YP) but are there alternatives? Are there very nasty problems
I should no about it? Could anyone recommended essential reading before I
undertake this project?
Cheers,
Raymond
