I run frontpage extensively. It is a first rate, intuitive program for the end
user, with a brilliant navigation function. It is also hampered by almost
extreme overhead on the server side making it quite slow comparitive to
'normal' pages.

that said. I refuse point blank to install the apache patch method of
frontpage, instead, i simply use the option 0) style where it (frontpage) must
jump through hoops to work with apache, rather than the other way round.

You should have no trouble at all installing version 4.0 (fp 2000) on the
server. It is avaliable of course from www.rtr.com

from all I can recall, you simply type install, and answer yes, yes, yes, to
everything. DO NOT install the patch, forget all about it. There is a mildly
tricky sendmail problem where you need to hand edit
/usr/var/frontpage/version/frontpage.cnf to get it flying, but that's about it.
