I am running Mandrake 6.1 with kernel 2.2.13-22.
When I start kppp I get the warning 'Your kernel doesn't have ppp support blah
blah blah', if I Ok the message and connect to my ISP it wil clap out when it's
trying to start ppp.
The funny thing is if I switch to another console as root and run pppd from the
command prompt, wait till it's finished, switch back to X and start kppp and
connect it works fine.
Is it a module not loading for my ordinary user but will for root or a
permissions thing?
Basically my setup is mandrake with the updates installed. I haven't compiled
my own kernel or anything like that.
Regards
Harry
