Hi all,
I'm wondering if anyone might know of something that might be able to help
me here...
I've been having some problems with a PPP link to a RH6.0 box - the link
stays up fine and all but I have difficulties receiving large files and
emails, also rsync's are impossible to do (just seems to stall)
I am able to send large amounts of data without any problem.
I thought it might be due to the modems (ifconfig shows 517 framing errors
for 72101 packets) - I'm not entirely sure as the other ppp link has
significant framing errors also (702 or 39285)
I've tried fiddling with turning ip_always_defrag on and off, I'm not sure
how to turn ip_masq on and off with the /proc variables (do they happen
straight away??)
I've got a feeling it's some kind of tcp timeout and it shuts the port down.
It's not the application - they time out later as no data is coming through.
I've tried some different modems, different com ports, and I've changed the
setup so that it has a MRU and MTU of 1500
Any ideas? Or things I can try??
Thanks,
Josh.
