What sort of Middleware? For Java specific stuff (RMI, JINI, etc) you
can't go past the documentation on java.sun.com. For CORBA stuff the CORBA
standards at www.omg.org, and the book _Advanced CORBA Programming with
C++_ by Henning and Vinivoski. There is also an OMG Press CORBA Java
Programming by Vogel.

But middleware is a very big topic.
