As say opposed from the basic install haveing the secureity things (shadow passwords
lack of network service and/or ALL:ALL in /etc/hosts.deny) as default and people turning
on the insecurity themselves?

I don't really think that the fact that it is not "gaurenteed" is going to stop the bad
press.
The idea of having a non-secure install concerns me as much as branding an install
"secure".
