[bje at lair:~]$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
domain home
search qld.bigpond.net.au       home
nameserver 192.168.105.1

[bje at lair:~]$ grep -5 forwarders /etc/bind/named.conf
[snip]
        forwarders {
                24.192.64.18;
                24.192.64.19;
                24.192.1.30;
        };

[bje at lair:~]$ host dce-server
dce-server.qld.bigpond.net.au   CNAME   br3.qld-remote.bigpond.net.au
br3.qld-remote.bigpond.net.au   A       24.192.64.18

My setup is slightly different in that I run a caching nameserver which
also provides a ".home" domain. Which login program are you using? What
resolvers are listed?

I'm using bpalogin v1.7.
