Red Hat Linux, in the latter distributions (including 6.2, maybe even
back to 6.0) have a `partionless install' option, which, essentially,
just makes a huge big file which has the installation inside it.

I believe, however, that it's rather slow.  I've never had need for it,
or been tempted to try it.  YMMV.
