[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and
Unix-related topics. ]

Hi All,

I just updated my squid/2.2.STABLE4 to squid/2.2.STABLE5 and am now unable
to access websites from the rest of the computers on my network. I have
tried using the existing squid.conf file that I was using before, as well as
the default squid.conf file supplied with 2.2.stable5 (modified to see my
parent cache) but cannot seem to get either to work.

The error message (in access.log) I get is this:
941363432.972	574 192.168.0.11 TCP_DENIED/403 1008 GET http://www.avp.tm -
NONE/- -

(the 1008 is sometimes 996, 982 or 986, but the rest is the same for every
site I try to access.)

I am unable to figure out why this is happening.

Also, to get squid -z to work and create the necessary cache logs, I had to
"chown -R nobody.nobody /usr/local/squid". I don't think that nobody.nobody
is right (or secure) but it would not load any other way. Methinks this may
have something to do with the http:// failures I am getting.

Any and all help appreciated.

Regards,
Hilton
