[H-GEN] HDD problems

I have just purchased a new Compaq and installed Mandrake 6.0. I have
installed all the updates. The problem I have is that I keep getting an
annoying message popping up all the time.

hda: no DRQ after issuing WRITE
ide0: reset: success

Does anyone know what this means and how to get rid of it?

Is a kernel recompile in order? If so what options to I have to include?
