My understanding, although it could be wrong is that Linux did not support the
Ultra 66 yet.

Gee you are pushing things here. If the BIOS will recognise the 10 Gig drive
then Linux probably wont be a problem. I would think at worst you would need a
parameter for geometry at the lilo boot but if it is an old BIOS will it
actually support more than 8.4 Gb. The BIOS might be more of a problem than
Linux. You may need to download a BIOS upgrade.

Promise Technology cards are OK but I think most generic PCI interfaces are
just as good.
