[H-GEN] Ultra66 HDD controllers and Linux?

I am after some information / advice on using an Ultra66 HDD controller
to use a 10gig HDD under Linux and NT4 and DOS.

Has anyone had any experience with these on an older PnP BIOS (pre large
drives).

Also Is the PROMISE unit the "bees-nees" or is there another.

Any comments and help on this is welcome.
