For those who want a bit more info, the Cisco 1924-A Workgroup switch is
available for $1426 ex ($1740 inc) (RRP $2526). It includes the following
features:
24 * 10BaseT switched ports
2 * 100BaseTX switched ports
1 * AUI Port
Web Browser interface, support for DNS and DHCP
3 MB packet buffer, 1 Gbps bus, 370 Mbps max forwarding bandwidth
70 microsecond latency between 10BaseT ports and 11 microseconds between
100BaseTX ports
Auto negotiation on all ports (full/half duplex)
Optional redundant PSU
Optional upgrade to Enterprise software (supports Fast EtherChannel on the 2
* 100BaseTX ports for up to 400 Mbps of bandwidth to switches, routers and
servers, and VLAN support)
The Cisco Catalyst switches are very well thought out units. The Enterprise
upgradability option allows for better utilization of the switch as your
network expands. Also available is the 2924XL switch offering 24 *
10BaseT/100BaseTX autosensing switched ports for $2418 ex ($2950 inc).
