I know this is old, but I was scrounging about in the spec file for
XFree86 3.3.5 in the SRPMS and found this:

# turn of accel for sis6326 cards
%patch33 -p1 -b .sis

* Mon Sep 13 1999 Preston Brown <pbrown at redhat.com>
- postun for xfs changed to preun
- noaccel patch for SiS 6326 cards

... which may explain a few things.
