There's a couple of people who have done this for a Palm Pilot to talk to a
Linux box via PPP. Basically the Linux box pretends it's a modem right up
until it says "CONNECT". Then it starts pppd.
I found it wasn't too hard to do with a perl script. It should be easier
with a Windows box since the connection protocol is much more configurable.
Josh Marshall took it much further than I did.
