I have an AHA-1510A that I managed to get to work. The down side is, as you
mentioned, no on-board bios. The trick here is to pass the scsi parameters
to the kernel at boot time

The particular bit of interest is this....
aha152x=iobase[,irq[,scsi-id[,reconnect[,parity]]]]
This has one nasty side effect if you are using scsi for all your disks,
that being that you can't boot from a scsi device, you need either an IDE
HDD as your boot device or boot from a floppy.
