: Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't seti use up inordinate amounts of ram
It uses bit of ram but so far it hasn't bothered me as it still only runs
wutn the box is idle (I have it set to nice 20).
: when compared with rc5? (another distributed computing client) Also,
: doesn't seti take *much* longer to complete a block than rc5?
Well given that seti is doing meaningful data analysis I am not surprised
:) _Alot_ of analysis is done on each block. My k6-233 does a block in
just under 24 hours.
I did rc5 for quite a while but have changed to seti as it is conducting
analysis for a specific scientific purpose not just looking for an
encrypted message.
Cheers,
-Robert
