Speaking to some of the people "on the ground", this appears to be an
infuriating problem that won't stay put.  There are people who can't
stay connected for 5 minutes and then there are people like me who
can stay connected for days or weeks :-).

As a general observation, it appears as if the current V.90
implementations are less than satisfactory :-)
