(Note reply-to: being general at humbug.org.au vs Craig Eldershaw <celdersh at parc.xerox.com>)

Hi all,

I'm sure bofh at humbug would wade in eventually, but I thought I'd reduce
the blood caused by such intervention (sorry Bruce) by prempting him
with a couple of polite suggestions:

The first is a general comment:

<< Pruning replies is a Good Thing >>

Please take the extra 30 seconds required to remove unnecessary text
from the previous email when replying. This particularly includes .sigs
and auto-generated footers. It is also very noticable when someone
replies with a few lines at the top of an *entire copy* of the previous
response (in this case 100% pruning is probably appropriate).

The second comment is more specific:

 - religous wars can occasionally be amusing
 - they are rarely productive (but hey :-)
 - they seem inapropriate for humbug-general
 and
 - they even wear thin on humbug-chat after the first 50-odd
   responses...

Thanks for your attention...

Craig.
