would you lease explain  .... in words of no more than two syllables ......
 just why the reference to eth1 which doesn't exist on a system with one
ppp0 and one eth0

I have no desire at this point in time for TCP to do any more than let LAN
boxes browse & send / receive email ..... I am confused more than enough
already so the last thing I need is info on extras like firewalls etc   All
that stuff might be good but its of no  interest whatsoever to me until I
get this thing doing the most basic elementary functions .... ie allowing
LAN boxes to browse & email
