Hi all,

I have just managed to set up my RH 6.0 (kernel 2.2.10) with a ppp
connection, which is shared throughout my LAN. I have noticed that when I
use ppp-on to establish the connection, even when using the "&" command,
something is running in the foreground, and when I Ctrl-C to get the
terminal window back, pppd drops the connection.

Is there anything else that will allow me to make a ppp connection, and that
doesn't require a term window for itself (I'm running shell not under X)?

Also, is there any way for me to have the dial-on-demand options valid for
certain times only? What I'd like is for the dial-on-demand to take place
only between 8am and 8pm, and not to initiate a connection after 8pm. My
ISP allow 8-hour continuous connects, and these dial-on-demand limits would
be ample for me. I don't want it dialling automatically at 2:00am just
because Win98 decides to check for updates! :-)

Regards,
Hilton Travis
