hi there

- i've now successfully compiled & am running ppp2.3.4 with a 2.0.35
kernel (after following some bug tips; seems there are a couple of
glitches with recent kernel/ppp/RH releases, but clues abound on
comp.os.linux.networking).

now the down side.. my isp's newsgroup server has been dysfunctional
(non-functional, from my end) for six weeks and i can't seem to post
from here on dejanews. i still have a problem hooking up via ppp, tho'
from my reading of the debugging output everything seems fine at this
end; i have a ream of output from syslogd and i can't talk to anyone!

if there's anywhere you can suggest where i can ask for some help, i'd
be extremely grateful - i'm a bit loath to approach messrs. longyear &
mackerras direct..
