Generally it is better to put it in /etc/profile and /etc/login, which
will end up getting printed just after /etc/motd.

Better yet is putting it in the default install of .profile and .login
as this way the user can choose to disable it if desired (some ppl have no
sense humour unfortunately).

Ok, there might be valid reasons for disabling it too, like slow links :)
