In that case we have absentee voting with a member of the club (the
person holding the proxy) acting as the voice for the absent member.  True
absentee voting would be cleaner imho.  I agree that this is how it is
sometimes done, but on occassions it has been done the other way (ie with
one person effectively giving voting rights to the other person).
