Since I find myself in the unfortunate position of owning one of 
these I'm going to have to do something about it (and _no_, running 
windows is not an option!).  Any pointers to where I might find a 
development effort aimed at support for these printers?  If one isn't
already under way perhaps there might be a forum where such an effort
could be instigated?

I'd have a go myself, but I have no idea where to start on a linux 
printer driver.  Taking my lead from experts should get me under way
though.
