The performance was "OK", but really a little slow. I wouldn't want to
use Word or Excel over vnc. There are also some (minor) redraw
problems.
The real problem is that when used to display Windows apps you are
actually driving the remote Windows machine as the single user.
Therefore, to have a Linux box displaying Windows apps, you need a
dedicated Windows box as well. That's 2 machines for your use. Other
users on the LAN can steal the display from you, as well.
Working in reverse works better, since Unix is multiuser. You can
easily have Windows desktops using remote Linux apps (like a Windows X
server). But who wants to use a Windows desktop??
