RedHat 4.2 definately comes with RPMs, not targzs.

Did you perhaps mean tarballs from one of the other packages in the
InfoMagic set?

I believe you'll find xemacs on mirror.aarnet.edu.au/redhat/contrib,
but it's never been in a RH distribution AFAIK.
