A friend of mine is an engineering consultant and has some equipment
running on a 286 board. He tells me he must have a 286 board as anything
else will run too fast.

His motherboard has finally karked it and he needs a replacement.

I have suggested he look at a 386SX or a 486 with the turbo switch set
to 8MHz - anyone care to comment on whether this would work? I think it
probably will.

Barring successfully using the turboless operation is there anyone on
this list who might have a 286 board sitting in the back of the garage
gathering dust and wanting to sell.
