I'm inclined to agree.  X doesn't really use alot of cpu power (but it
does use fpu power so make sure it is a 486DX).  A 486 should handle the
load fine.

Further explanation on the fpu issue:  Font rendering does alot of
floating point operations so an fpu (maths co-processor) is virtually a
must for a lot of X work.  A font server might help.
