I'll speak :)

When I first started with Linux i used smail (Slackwere 2.0 suggested it).
I later changed to sendmail.
About 1 year ago I went back to smail, but within the last 2 weeks have
changed back to sendmail due to lack of docs for smail.  Sendmail is well
documented --> a big plus.

I'm rabid about no mailer, but recomend sendmail right now for 2 reasons:

1) It apparently is over the worst of the security breaches.
2) It is _well_ documented.
